Christmas music 2018

Sunday, 03 March 2019

We were luckier with the weather than a year ago! (When 2 of our 3 concerts had to be cancelled because of snow.)

On Tuesday 11th December we were welcomed by the Catholic Ladies group of St Francis of Assisi, Kenilworth, in a very friendly evening of shared Christmsas music together. We were ably led by our gifted accompanist David King, who added his own special take on Sleigh Ride. The ladies offered delicious refreshments, and when it was their turn they too sang very well.

Our main December event was an afternoon concert in the village church of Ettington, under our Musical Director Leon James. In the first half we sang the Rutter Magnificat which we had sung in Sceaux in November, this time with our very own soprano soloist Yvonne Rollins. After the interval there was a selection of Christmas music and readings, in which an appreciative audience joined in. And between the two halves, mulled wine and mince pies! Altogether, a lovely occasion to mark the third weekend of Advent.
